As a child I knew what excited me...sports, hanging out with friends, eating chocolate! It's funny how I could unabashedly share my passions with anyone who asked. I ate, slept, breathed gymnastics, football, track and volleyball. For many years all of these activities were very much a part of my life. Even though my involvelment in each of these activities gradually changed a bit as I got older, taking on a focus of working out and training, I continued to feel a stir inside whenever I could share my knowledge and experiences regarding health, wellness, nutrition, etc.
Then life happened - various experiences and events in my life began to crowd out my passions and those things that made me excited and happy. The demainds of being a mother and wife, working full time, and being an active member of my community made me lose sight of the things that energize me. Why do we allow life to peel the layers of our joy away and distract us from being fulfilled? Why is it that you can look at yourself in the mirror one day and no longer know what fuels you...what excites you?
I realized that this has been my reality for a number of years. Then one day just recently I had a conversation with someone that is trying to change their life. My friend described to me her struggle to get healthy by changing her diet and adding excercise to her schedule daily. I began to share with her some simple steps that she could take to move in the right direction. An hour later I was feeling like I was on top of the mountain - energized and wanting to do more for her. In that moment I was reminded of my passion and the fact that I was not living it out in my life.
I want to live passionately...being passionate and fulfilled in every aspect of my life. From this moment forward I choose to never give up on my passion. My plan is to move in the direction of living passionately every day by providing health and nutrition coaching and counselling to people that want to get well. And so my journey continues...
What is your passion? Be passionate about something and make it a real part of your life...TODAY!
