Every time I see this picture I am reminded of the disappointment and devastation of knowing our time on The Amazing Race Canada was coming to an end. Looking over at Cormac and seeing his resounding spirit as he cheered me on until the last target had been hit was enough to make me want to regret ever embarking on this journey. But then the lessons started being revealed to me as I rode around the one kilometer track over and over again.
My life has been about never giving up. I have always taught Cormac to never give up..."finish what you start" is what I would often say. I realized that now was the time to put into action what I had always tried to teach Cormac. I was not going to give up until we had finished what we started - we were going to run to that mat the way we had done for each leg.
However, it was not in the race where my biggest lessons were revealed, those have come long after the cameras have stopped rolling. Why is it that we so easily want to give up on ourselves when God never gives up on us? GOD NEVER GIVES UP ON US!
God is stronger than anything we are facing or are going to face. We are made strong through Him
God carries us when we can no longer carry ouselves - even when it does not feel like he's there...HE IS THERE!
God is GOD...and that is enough
When life seems heavy, let God carry it. When the everyday seems to be drowing you, let God lift your head above the water. We don't know why things happen, but we know things are going to happen. In between the happenings, Never Give Up beause God is not going to give up on you.
